Meet Ricky

My name is Ricky Spain, Jr (He/Him), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional offering telehealth services in Illinois. With experience dating back to 2015, I have worked in diverse settings such as residential, community mental health agencies, and private practice. My dedication lies in aiding individuals in their healing and transformation journey through an eclectic therapeutic approach.

As your therapist, I will create a welcoming, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where you are valued and supported. Together, we will identify your goals and tackle life’s obstacles. I draw from various therapeutic interventions and approaches to empower you. I will help you recognize your inherent strengths, shed light on coping mechanisms that may no longer serve you, introduce new strategies for a more complete sense of self-acceptance and wellness, and assist you in making connections between past experiences and current thoughts, feelings, and circumstances.

I specialize in working with adults facing mood disorders, anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, trauma, and interpersonal stressors. As a therapist, I bring a diverse and unique perspective to my practice, informed by my experiences as a person of color and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I am deeply committed to providing affirming and culturally competent therapy to individuals from all backgrounds. While I have a particular focus on supporting People of Color and the LGBTQIA+ community, I welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where every client feels understood, respected, and empowered to explore their unique experiences and challenges. Together, we can work towards healing and growth, honoring the diversity of human identity and experience.
